Education

I completed my undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College in June 2004 with a broad-based major in Engineering (please click here for a complete listing of coursework) and a heavy concentration of study in German.  In the winter of 2002 I participated in a Language Study Abroad (LSA) program in Berlin, Germany, coordinated through Dartmouth’s Office of Off Campus Study.  The three month program incorporated classes at the Frei Universität, full integration into the homes of generous Berlin host-families, and mandatory travel through southern Germany.  Later, in the summer of 2003, an opportunity was made available to me through Dartmouth’s Engineering department to study and work in Hamburg, Germany.  In my six months at the Universität der Bundeswehr (University of the Armed Forces), I studied Jet Propulsion and Fluid Flow Dynamics while completing a Prakitikum (the equivalent of an internship) at STILL, GmbH.

After receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree I enrolled in the Thayer School of Engineering, one of Dartmouth’s three graduate schools and, en route to obtaining my Master’s degree, completed additional coursework for a second Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  The Master’s of Engineering Management degree, which I will complete in December 2005, blends project-based engineering course work with the essential tenants of the Master’s of Business Administration program at the Tuck School of Business.

Licensure:

In May 2004 I sat for and passed Exam 1 for licensure as a Professional Engineer.  I plan to sit for the next exam after a few years of working in my specific field.
